The Person
We are looking for an experienced IT Testing Manager with the vision and passion to take our testing team to the next level. You’ll be managing an in-house team and at times external testing resource(s) to support the IT development programme, ensuring that quality solutions are delivered at the right time. You’ll need to demonstrate that you are:
* The expert on testing techniques, providing coaching and mentoring where necessary
* Ability to inspire and motivate the testing team and colleagues for all areas of the business
* An articulate and proactive communicator, with a can do attitude
* Organised and professional
Skills:
You will need good IT skills, excellent interpersonal skills, an eye for detail and be a team player.
* Ability to implement and ensure compliance to testing methodologies
* Strong knowledge of integrated systems in a multi-channel environment
* Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is desirable
* Use of Jira and associated tools Zephyr Scale , Azure Devops and the like
* Exposure to Magento websites and/or other ecommerce solutions
The Role
The size of the IT footprint at Selco and the number of end-to-end processes that flow through various applications means testing strategies need to be well-defined, managed, communicated and backed up by appropriate procurement and use of test management tools. This will ensure a robust set of test environments suitable for the job that are understood by all who have a hand in testing. To achieve this, we need an IT Testing Manager to manage our testing and put a level of strategic management in place to determine and drive through appropriate testing methodologies.
Your normal working week will be Monday to Friday, however some evening and weekend working maybe required to support the deployment of enhancements and fixes, so flexibility is key.
Key Accountabilities
* To be the testing point of contact in IT for all projects and programmes
* To develop and lead the IT Testing Team
* Planning and Assigning of testing workload
* Governance and maintenance of test environments
* To be responsible and lead the design, development and communication all testing strategies, plans, methodologies and toolsets within the Selco IT estate
* Lead selection processes and rollout/maintenance programmes for appropriate testing tools
* Design and rollout of contemporary and appropriate testing methodologies to the organisation, including clear definition of testing governance (stages and gates) and provision of document templates
* To engage with key stakeholders to manage expectations around environment and data availability, estimates of timescales, competing priorities and testing-related issues
* Assist the project delivery teams in defining, approving and executing project test plans
* Act as approver and custodian for tasks and systems as appropriate
* To contribute to the development of test plans and periodic testing of all BCP/DR arrangements
* To contribute to the development and implementation of suitable software standards into the Selco IT function
* To line manage testing team members, setting up one 2 ones and year end reviews
